My avatar is gone

Last night after changing into one of my alternate avatars when I went to change back into my usual avatar I discovered that every thing in the folder that contained her that wasnt copyable has completely disappeared. 3 hairpieces, a very expensive outfit, some jewelry, her irises etc. All that remained was her shape, skin, basic hair and any thing she was wearing that was copyable. I am very certain of this. I have used this same folder and avatar for months now so I know what was in that folder. These items are not in my inventory anywhere now..not in trash, not in lost and found, not in any other folders..I have searched. They totally have disappeared from my inventory.
I am utterly furious and want to know why this happened. The total cost of the items lost are around 2500L not to mention the hours spent making this avatar.
Some things cant be replaced and if this can happen why would I want to. You cant trust SL to keep your avatar safe.

Chalice - have you looked in the folder that holds the items for your Alternate Avatar? Sometimes when you go into appearence and change something while wearing a no copy/no mod item, and then save the outfit, the no copy/no mod items will be moved to the folder of the items that you are currently wearing.

It's something that you can check anyway. I hope you find them - things have been pretty strange lately and if you don't find them, you should report it as it could be related to the problems with the asset server.

I had this happen to me shortly after the release of 1.3... it was UBER annoying as i lost EVERYTHING i had a attached.. and some very expensive clothing too... also my skin was completely borked and had pictures of im's all over it.. which i am finding is happening more and more.. i logged on yesterday to find a picture of Zid on me back, now as much as Zid is a babe i don't wanna publicly promotes his fine good looks cos me sis will kill me (sorry willowwwwww), now that top permanently has Zid on it... well it did every time i relogged AND this morning... So i really think if something like that happens we should be compensated.

Also my hug anim is borked AGAIN just after getting a replacement from Launa.. and i don't want to run back to her again and say ummm the sims have broken my hug again.. i am so at the point of tearing my hair out with this happening... WHAT CAN WE DO!!

Nothing on lost avie..but for script that stop working in objects try:

Right click and Edit object, then from the Tool menu at the bottom, choose recompile scripts in object.

My glasses, shoes, Animatin override stop about once a week, I just do this and they are back and working again just fine.

If that option does not highlight, then no choice but to get replaced, but if you can recompile it seems to mark the scripts as running again. (as that is what teleport bug usually does, it just sets then to not running.)

Only the nocopy items are missing, and all of the copyable remain? It sounds to me like you might have dragged a folder onto your avatar, and missed. Easy to do when you are being lagged out... When that happens, you'll end up moving all the nocopy items into whatever object you accidentally released the mouse on. They could be hiding in an attachment you were wearing, or they could be hiding inside an object like the floor you were standing on or something in the background. I don't know of an easy way to find them, but you can just start editing everything around you while looking in the 'Contents' tab and see if they are in any of your nearby objects.

There's another thread like this: "Found in Strange Location" written by Korg Stygian, in the General section. He found his avatar's things in a piece of parquet flooring lol
