When second life freezes, it's to my advantage to have the ability to close the program without having to reboot or anything silly like that. So, in WinXP, I can either goto the task manager to shut the client down, or click the X button in the corner, or even right click on the toolbar where it's located and click the close option in that menu. But for all of these, when WinXP prompts "end now" and I click the button, it refuses to go away! I'm writing this as SL is still trying to close, which it WON'T. Is this a problem with Windows or a problem with SL? Either way, it's an annoying problem, so I'm going to go reboot now... *sigh*

if it' sthe same xp bug that we've all been having...(went away once but came back the next day...../shrug)...what it's doing is reading your cache files from the game....this is a great big file so it takes a while...(or is it a whole bunch of small files ....either way it takes a bunch of time.....if you click end now just wait about 2 min at the most....it will eventually stop then when you start SL again it doesn't do it.....the next day it will do it again....(happens every night for most of us xp users (if not all))....no need to reboot....just let it work through it then you can go back in...... also....if it freezes like that again just let it sit for 2 m in....you dont' have to end task to regain control....when mine freezes sometims i just go make a sandwich and come back to it all better .....it just has to read all those files
