From what you describe, I would pin it on overheating.

Is it a Dell?

My Dell Inspiron 9100 runs VERY hot - typically the CPU is over 65C. It was a replacement for my Dell Inspiron 5100 which ran so hot that it routinely shut itself off. Get some canned air, blow the dust out of your fans and heatsinks, and think about putting your notebook on an after-market cooling pad. Oh, and good luck.

I have been having the same problem for about the last two days. Not just on my laptop, but also on my desktop, both of which have the components to play SL. It's strange, I'll play sometimes up to 50 minutes, and bam, it knocks me completely off my high speed cable connection even. I called the cable company, they have no idea what it could be, and it's not a hardware problem. Sometimes it happens after five minutes. It's odd because it only happens to my computer when I play SL, no other games. My friend is also having the same thing happen to her, more frequently the last two days. Seems if I stay off SL, then my high speed cable connection, never falters. Strange to me.
