Sending an IM from outside SL

I need to send a message to a friend of mine in SL, but i can't launch the SL client from the computer i am using. Could it be possible to send an IM from the SL site or any other way please ?

It won't help you now because you first have to register inworld, but www.zonkster.com allows you to do this.

I think there are a couple of other sites that have a similar service, might find something by googling for "offline SL IMs" or something similar.

I tried all the links you gave me but the only one that seems to work from the computer I use was Zonkster and it doesn't seem to really require registration - only for authentification, so I used it and now I cross my fingers hoping it will work.
