Say I have a basic prim: on one side is a texture I created that has a green color in the texture itself, and on another side I have the standard "blank" texture and I have applied the color green to it. I can see the color I created as part of a texture, but I cannot see the applied colors within SL. Everything just appears as if "white" was applied.
Now I've been in SL a long time, so I figured it would work itself out, but when it was still a problem a week later I started playing around with some things.
I discovered that if I uncheck the Basic Shaders box in my graphic preferences, the colors come back but they blink unendingly. I also discovered that if I check the Atmospheric Shaders then my colors come back 100% with no problems. However, I never use the Atmo Shaders unless I'm taking a photo because they just crunch my system to hell and back.
I realized that I had changed a couple of settings in my NVidia Control Panel in order to improve my performance in a couple of other mmos. Setting my Texture Filtering back to High Quality versus the High Performance I had changed it to brought the colors back into my SL.
Doesn't seem sensible that it should remove my SL colors when set to High Performance, but I thought I would share the knowledge and hope for a fix in the future
