Hi! I have a very laggy club, and I have been asking everyone I know what is the best way to minimize it. The club has a mall, and I really do not know which people or vendors are responsible, when I loged in this morning when there were few people in the sim, there were about 400 active objects running about 2800 scripts. That is over 7 scripts on average for each active object. Last night when there was over 25 people at an event, there were over 3800 active scripts running.
I think a lot of lag is due to these scripts. I have an item that lets me locate things that run scripts but it does not tell me how much lag the object is causing. In the "about land" feature, I can find out the number of objects each person or vender has on my land. What I would like to see is a few columns that would also include how many runing scripts are associated with the obects that person owns and a column that would give a "lag ranking" for the person, so I can locate people causing major lag and help to reduce it. The sim crashes ablmost like clockwork every night at about 7 pm game time. Another idea would be to modify the "see invisible" feature where instead of seeing things in all red, the colors could change depending if an object was using lots of sim processing time, perhaps be a soft blue for inactive things and gradually shift to red for highly scripted lag generating sim-slowing objects that coudl easily be found by the land owner and returned.
This would enable property owners to easily find and moderate lag in thier sims and would help the play experience of everyone who currently has to fight lag. I want to stop or minimize lag in the club and mall, but I just don't have the tools to find it and remove the worst items, in order to do it. Please help somhow with better lag fighting tools for property owners. Thanks!
