Okay, I'm going to buy a new desktop, mainly for SL but also equipped for the future. I've read several threads in this forum, and noticed that some ppl have issues with Win 7, and other things.

I know that Nvidia is the GPU to choose, but so many choices, and when you read this page: [http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Typical_Frame_Rate_Performance_by_Graphics_Card/GPU], you notice that there are big differences beteween the Nvidia cards, when it comes to frame rate. Nvidia GeoForce 8800 have the best FPS. But I haven't found anybody selling that GPU in Sweden, where I will be buying the computer.(I know... always download the latest drivers)

And another thing what OS to buy, 32 mbits or 64, does SL work with the 64 mbs,To be able to use more than 2 GB RAM, you need to have the 64 mbit OS, and how does that OS work with other applications?

And then the CPU 2 quad, 4 quad...?! What works with SL?

The only thing I'm totally sure about is the PSU, cause that was the one that destroyed my computer that I was using for SL, now I'm on a lousy laptop, GPU Intel 64 MB, can't do much in SL with that one. So I know the PSU need to be poweful enough to run all the hardware.

I really don't feel like building my own computer, I just want to buy one that meets all my requirements. I want to hang out in SL not messing with hardware, or complicated client settings. All new computers comes preinstalled with Win 7, and then finding the right CPU, GPU and PSU, etc... Surfing the web looking at different computers, reading all the specs, then comparing with SL's system requirements and the wiki pages... phew. Should it be this difficult to find a new computer that's compatible with SL?!

Anything above a Geforce 8 will do.
Go with a 64-bit OS and get use of more than 3.50 gigs of RAM.
Dual core should suit you well. If you want to make more of an investment, i would go for the quad core.
