Windlight Water

Okay, maybe it's just me...

I can run all other scenes for windlight (such as the sky settings) just fine, but when I go to change the water nothing happens except the bottom of the water changes (water fog) but nothing happens to the surface. I've had this issue forever I just never really though too much about it till now and I'd like to get it running so that I can take better pictures.

I followed Torleys tutorial (located here: http://secondlife.com/my/whatnext/video-tutorials/?lang=en-US) named "WINDLIGHT: Change how water looks". I did notice that when I go to the EDIT->PREFERENCES->GRAPHICS-> Raise my Performance to Mid or High, and Check the "Custom" box, then I cannot check any box below where it says "Bump Mapping and Shiny". Everything below that box is faded out and I cannot select anything.

I am running the following:
Second Life 1.23.4 (123908) Jun 11 2009 15:16:56 (Second Life Release)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Series Processor (1496 MHz)
Memory: 2038 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (Build 6002)
Graphics Card Vendor: Intel
Graphics Card: Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator
Windows Graphics Driver Version: 7.14.0010.1437
OpenGL Version: 1.5.0 - Build 7.14.10.1437

Is it my computer or do you think that I am doing something wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,
Shelly

This is your problem. Is it a laptop? If it's a desktop, you probably want to invest in a video card that doesn't suck dirty swamp water.

Then I guess the answer is, you're stuck. There's some alternate viewers that might work better, based on the 1.18 code base. The Nicholaz "Bleeding Edge" viewer is often spoken well of.

You don't have hardware support for pixel shading, which creates those effects. I have the same problem with my old laptop.
