Hmm was sure someone would have said something by now
Maybe they have and i just cannot find it.

Over the last 4 days I have encountered Missing Image written on AV's at least 50 times, including on myself.

Others have seen it as well on skirts, shirts, faces and in the eyes.

It is usually easily fixed by going into apperance. But this is happening more and more.

Yeh, I bug reported it a couple days ago, complete with a screenshot of a guy who's entire body (except the head) was Missing Imaged.

Curiously enough though I've only seen the problem in Magenta, though that's where I spend most of my time anywho.

Magenta can get pretty laggy, when Phantasie Isle has a party.

Surprisingly, these problems aren't always occuring during parties. And lag has never done this before anywho.

(And, even more suprisingly, the last party PI threw didn't crash the sim.)

It has been happeing in Clyde too - my av has been all texture missing to other people (looked fine to me). If I changed my appearance it would restore the textures.

Load times have been awful in Clyde lately too.

I saw it happen to a couple of people last night in Stage 4 (me and Jessip during an avatar show and tell). My eyes have been doing it quite a bit lately as well.

I knew that going into the appearance editor reset the eyes, but it resets the clothes too? Poot! I was hoping to induce the missing image texture, or at least wait until the next time it happened, go into appearance and save it as an outfit.

I've got 5 or 6 snapshots of people I took this past weekend who were missing images on some part of their body's baked textures.

well you can also just open your inventory and double click on other clothes/eyes/bodies/etc. to change appearance w/o going into the appearance menu and that will reset it too.

:)

I had this happen to me too, I just kept reloading the avatar by switching back and forth and it finaly worked.

I do have one avatar that is *purposly* all Missing Image so if you see me standing there like that, ask me first, lol.

And James Miller has had his shirt missing for some time now also.

I bug-reported this too. How annoying to be missing something to every person you come across. I have a huge collection of snapshops people have taken of me, cause 50% of the time I look fine on my own screen.

This seemed to begin with the last patch.

This bug will be fixed in 1.3. In the meantime, if someone tells you your Av texture is missing, please do the following.

1) Reinstall Second Life. This will clear your local SL cache.
2) Edit your Appearance, adjust you skin color (changing it by 1 number will work), and click the "Save All" button. Everyone will see your correct avatar after a few seconds.
3) If you change your outfit and see missing textures, do step 2 again.

To potentially save people some hassle:

Dan, step 1 won't actually help other people who see my avatar missing textures will it? Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like step 1 is if I see missing textures and steps 2 and 3 are if other people see me missing textures. I wouldn't want people to go to the effort of an uninstall/reinstall everytime someone else sees a missing texture.

Uninstalling is not necessary in step 1. Just install SL again.
Step 1 is to clear your cache so that You see your own missing textures when you change to some other outfit.

Hehe. I see more of that than I do actual textures.

To celebrate this amusing bug, I made a new t-shirt I've been wearing inworld.

Front says : 'Another Missing F*cking Image'
Back says : 'Rez, Dammit, Rez!'

:p
