Need Help ... PLEASE :)

Hi everyone,

I'm new on second life, I'm belgian, sorry for my english !!!

I juste created an account on SL, and i've juste installed the setup, but when I'm running the program, I have a window with an error message. This is the message :

"second life is unable to run because your video card driver did not install proprely, are out of date, or are for unsupported hardware. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers and even if you do have the latest, try to reinstalling them.

If you continue to receive this message, contact costumer service".

I understand the message, so I have make sure the update for my video card, it was also the latest driver installed on my pc. It works.

Information about my PC :

SOny VAIO VGN-FE41E
Windows Vista home premium
processor : Intel core duo T5500 @1.66GHz 1.67GHz
32 bit operating system
Video card system : NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 (microsoft corporation - WDDM)


So what's the matter ? Why I can't run the program and play with Second Life ?

Please help me ...

It means find an update for your graphics card. Just search NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 Update in google.

hi Juli, welcome to the forums.

SL sometimes gives this message if your video driver was updated WITHOUT uninstalling the previous driver. Doing this can leave behind something in the registry that confuses SL's client.

Try uninstalling your graphics driver, rebooting, then re-installing the most recent driver. Reboot, and try SL.

Theres only one problem with all this and thats Nvidia only has drivers for the Geforce go 7800 GTX as the earliest. If you can't find them anywhere it may mean you might have to look into a new card.

Searching the card name brings up some driver possibilities. Make sure you uninstall, reboot, and then install whatever drivers you decide to use.
