I was trying to create a lovely chair upstairs in my building in Venice. I sat down in it to size it and saw that it was too big along the z axis. So while sitting on it, I stretched the seat object smaller and poof next thing I know is that I am downstairs, I had fallen through my floor.

Tracey, Wed, and I tested this a bit more and it seems to happen only when an avatar is sitting on the object and the object is stretched along z. Seems this breaks physics somehow.

I can confirm this, too -- the SLART car design originally included a "shield" (glass cylinder) that would extend itself down from the roof, around the chair, but every time llSetScale() was called the sitting avatar would find itself standing on the ground, as if all the objects in the vicinity had instantaneously gone phantom. It's not a big deal, but it would be neat if it could be added to the ever-growing list of issues to fix!

I recenly rewrote the scaling code for the next release. With the fixes I put in we should now be able to support some scaling of objects while you sit on them, however I'm not sure if the current implementation allows it. I'll file it as a bug so that I remember to check and fix if possible. Thanks.

I am having a simular problem

I build a new couch I was not sitting on the couch when I resized it but now randomly visitors fall threw the floor when they get up from "sit on". Its a little funny to see them end up on the first floor but this should not be happening.

This happened with both Fey and Dragon yesterday. With me also. I checked that the floor pieces were all linked. I even tried overlapping the floor a bit. I made sure the floor as thick enough = 0.126 or so.

I am stumped as to why this is happening. The bas of the object is made up of 3 layers non of which were streached while sitting on. So is this a bug with streaching in general?

Just wondering as I do not want to remake this item if I do not need to.

Thanks for listening :D

It seems to be a known thing; some people have told me they know it can do very bad stuffs.
