Slight issue during loading times

Hi there,

When logging in or teleporting, I noticed that the time it takes to complete the loading process is significantly reduced when the SL client is minimised. Sometimes it will even fail to log me in altogether. Usually it's more of an issue when trying to teleport. The teleport will often fail.

I am guessing that Second Life is specifically designed to cut down on the amount of system resources when Second Life is minimised. Although this is a good thing 99% of the time, it's not very helpful when the client is minimised during the login process or while teleporting.

Sure, some could say "well don't minimise SL during these times then". Although that's a viable workaround for this problem, it doesn't allow people to make better use of time doing other things online while SL is doing its business. (Such as browsing websites or writing an email)

I think the client should be modified so that it does not cut down on system resource usage when loading or logging in, even when the client is minimised.

This issue is apparent on both the Windows and Linux clients for me.

Cheers

MODS: Please delete this thread. After writing this, I decided to post this in another forum. When I later came back to this FF window, I accidentally submitted the thread instead of closing it.

Please can someone report this post to bring it to the attention of the mods. (obv. I can't report myself!)

Cheers
