Weird Screen when I move my camera?

This problem just started with the new release candidate that came out a few days ago. When I pan my camera sometimes, I get this weird screen - it wont let me type/chat, or move my camera. I can move my avatar and the like, but its rather hard when your screen looks like this:



I don't know why it's doing this, and any explanation or idea how I can fix it would be greatly appreciated

Youre using nvidia ?, then you may have vid card drivers that is not liked , avoid 169 series, 163 or 174.74 seems to fix this.

Disable shiney and this goes away instant, its nvidias 169.x - 169.99 something fault, but may be something else if you use Ati , *point preference VBO*.

I been using 174.74 beta drivers for about a week in SL i think, and this seems to been fixed there, and no other issues with games i play either, i had 163.xx but due to various beta testing i cannot use that old drivers on my 8800gts 640mb card.

Hi! Glad to see its not just me getting this... I noticed this a few times in the old WindLight client, and my workaround was to just switch back to the mainline client (missing all the wonderful sunsets in WL!!) .. When LL released 1.19.1.4, I eagerly downloaded and installed it..Not more than 10 min after my first login with it, I get that same screen.. Under the old WindLight client, often the anomoly would clear after a bit, but not this time... Wondering how I'd get back to the previous version, since I didnt keep a copy of it locally, I went to the download website and there was a link to the previous version... Guess LL knew there were gonna be problems... (Though, just now, I dont see the old version link).. I've posted a
Jira bug regarding this (Jira ID VWR6043)... Submitted on 4/3. Both times I've seen this, I've been using the latest Nvidia driver, but two diff Nvidia video cards.. A GeForce7100GS/256MB and now a GeForce8400GS/512MB... Until a fix for this is forthcoming, guess all affected people will be stuck with the previous version....

SL is picky, if you uninstall nvidia drivers for either update or downgrade to diffrent version, files that can remain after uninstall can cause this , had it myself at 169 downgrade to 163 , was still around bugging me.

Now i have a new reinstall of os, and running 174.74, without seeing these, usually always happend near random shiney objects.

Highly suggest trying either of these ;

163.75 or 174.74 , none of the versions in between as they have issues.

I downloaded the 174.74 beta, and reinstalled 1.19.1.4, and have been in-world for about a half hour and so far... no occurrances of the weird display... I was kind of nervous in not having a copy of the previous version to fall back on if "my mileage varied".. Guess I'm gonna a local repository of each version when I install it... /me keeps fingers crossed!!!!
