You cannot re-assign the attachment point anymore unless its in world, it won't work from inventory....rather irritating..........and for any builder, well, its a serious problem.......

Yup, confirmed. Make any prim. From inventory pick 'Attach to' and pick spine, or any other spot other than the right hand. It will attach to your right hand, and you cannot move it to any other spot.
Can't believe this one 'slipped through' the cracks. :/

I am also having this same problem. Should we be submitting tickets on this?

There is an open showstopper bug that sounds like it may be this, VWR-5087:
"Attach To... from inventory ignores selected postion and attaches to stored location."

I received this response to my ticket,
Solution: Dear Astray.
That is indeed a known problem, but there is a working workaround for it: Please try to place your attachments using the pie menu instead of the right-click menu from the inventory.
Regards, Lotte/I-World Team
I am not sure on how to add attachments thru the pie menu, only how to take them off.
Anyone have any ideas?

You can "use the pie dialog" by rezzing the object on the ground, right clicking on it, and using the "attach" pie wedge. The object in question will be put back in your inventory (or a copy of if it's copiable) and worn. It will be worn at the correct attachment point you just specified. It's cumbersome and very annoying for items you have copy mods on because now you end up with multiples, one for each attachment... but it works.

I can say that this does not work also. Being a bunny rabbit in SL, I am loaded with attachments. I created a mad hatter's top-hat for an Alice In Wonderland themed party last night and could not get it to attach from the pie chart. The ideal location would be one of my "ears" since skull and chin were already taken by a bunny avvie head and a pair of glasses respectively. Heck, I cannot even select various aspects of my anatomy beyond the major areas listed. (Head, right hand, left hand, arms, upper legs, torso, etc.) It made me a very sad mad science bunny to say the least.
