I have an nvidia 6200 w/256mb RAM on my spare computer and was shocked to discover that I was unable to login from that computer. I got a dialogue box telling me that it was unsupported hardware, yada, yada..... This really surprised me as I only recently replaced it with an nvidia 8400GS card on my main computer.
Nevertheless I was still able to log into SL using my truly ancient nvidia GeForce2 (32 mb RAM) and experience the wonders of SL in low-rez at a phenomenally craptacular 3fps! But it worked... unlike my 6200 which was rejected before the login screen. Is there a reason why 6200's are no longer supported. OK, I know they aren't all that great but it could still manage 10fps which was goood enough for building and live music performances.
Is this a permanent thing? I used to use it with all graphics options enabled and it ran just fine. As a matter of fact there wasn't that much of a performance difference between my old 6200 and the 8400 to justify the expense and I was considering going back to the 6200 and selling the 8400 to cut my losses. Should I just offload it on ebay and pick up an old ATI radeon instead?
