In SL if I plug my headset/mic in to the usb port I lose my PC music from my speakers. It feeds through my headset instead. How do I get my PC music to go through my speakers only, sepearate from SL altogether. Ive tried playing about with the device settings but had no joy.

Thank you very much

As far as I know, you need two sound cards to accommodate separate audio through speakers and headset if you are using USB headset. Sometimes you need two sound cards to have separate inputs even if you are using a non-usb headset. It depends on the sound card.

I use a non-usb headset and one sound card that has front and back connections and allows me to hear separate sounds on the headset and speakers by changing the setting to "consider front and back inputs separate sound devices". However, that lasted about an hour since I had an open mic to talk and everyone else could hear the music from my speakers through my mic and then had to yell over it and it made a conversation difficult.
