I am reposting this here from the main forums:
Ok in the past few versions of the client (post 1.4), SL seems to stop responding a lot for me. For example, whenever I pull up the Find window, the whole thing will freeze up for maybe 5 seconds, the whole thing will turn white and say Not Responding, and then it will come back and be fine. This occurs at other times in SL. I've talked to some other people who have the same problem. Any idea what is causing it, or has the client just become unstable
PS - I have filed bug reports on it as well.

i have the exact same problem too, ive filed bug reports on other things as well as this but i always get automated emails bak to me saying to read the faq db

I have this exact problem, especially when building. It is EXTREMELY frustrating, as it sometime does it many many times in a row. One of the server updates seemed to have fixed it, but now it's gone all wonky again. Lindens please help!!!

I have the same problem often. It just hangs....and even if I quit....I find that I can't access the web at all, even tho connected and have to reboot to get past the problem.
