I've been able to use Second Life using a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics before, but now, once I load up Second Life I get this error:
Second Life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of dare or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed. If you continue to reveive this message, contact customer service.
Im pretty sure I have the latest driver installed for it, i've used SL before on this card without any hassels, until recently
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this: http://www.driverzone.com/The scan is free but you have to subscribe to download the drivers. It's easy and I've found the drivers are good and most come with installers (meaning all you have to do is install them..........no complicated and scarey uninstalls before installing the new drivers). The scan will check your hardware for the latest drivers........you don't even have to know what hardware you have in your machine.

Ok I also have the nvidia geforce fx 5200..... I downloaded the drivers for it 2 days ago, have been playing sl with it since then, except just now, I got that same message... How likely is it that they went out of date that fast? I guess i will try getting new drivers but it strikes me as extremely odd...

I have the pny nvidia geforce fx5200, running a driver from '06 and can log into SL and walk around fine but textures take forever to load.
Every time i try to update the drivers to the latest version, i get the message when i start up SL that the video card drivers are out of date and SL shuts down. anyone have a clue as to what i can do.

No idea. I have an nvidia 6200 and get exactly the same 'unsupported' message even when using the Omega or the Tweakforce Extreme drivers. Oddly I have no such problems with my 32mb nvidia GeForce2 which manages to limp long at around 3fps. I really need to find a way to be able to use my 6200 as sometimes the computer it's on is the only machine I have a available to connect to SL.

Everyone seem to run into this if you use nvidia on SL, gotten it myself using nvidia 6800,7900,8800.
Usually comes if you install a new vid card driver without uinstalling first, but SL is just the only program thats so picky about it, guess its opengl thing.
