Seems like teleports are down. Every time I try to teleport anywhere, I get a message saying it couldn't be completed in a timely fashion. Shut down firewalls, relogged, cleared cache... Anyone else having trouble?
It's annoying to have to log out and log in to the new region every time I want to go anywhere...
However I can teleport home from other regions just fine.

Any RLV scripted items that use a HUD? OR any HUD system items that link with attachments you wear? There can be a number of reasons your teleports are failing. The big one i run into more than anything is (a) too many prims [like 1000-1500], or (b) worn scripted attachments that interact with a HUD can also cause your teleport to lag and fail. If you are wearing a lot of prims, trying trimming them down to 500-700 or so and if it still fails maybe remove the scripted items you are wearing if any. If none of what i mentioned applies to you, then perhaps it is just more of the SL Gremlins doing their random attacks on people's SL experience. Oh yea, resetting my router (unplug and then replug) completely cleared up my teleport failures in the past (when none of the above mentioned was a problem [scripts and too many prims]). Good luck!

I'll have to try the router thing, then.

I didn't get a chance to go and totally reboot the router, but the issue cleared up anyway.
Result: SL Gremlins were somewhere between me and the servers, apparently.

I've also been having real teleport issues increasingly.
I've tried all the above, resetting router, reducing prims/scripted items etc to no avail.
I'm using Snowglobe viewer in Ubuntu but I've tried using the main viewer with no improvement
Ok same problem in the main viewer but it seems often that it's specific locations that are causing the problem. Others can TP there but not me.

I've only had issues with one sim and it was overrun with bling anyway so not suprised it had problems. I walked into the next sim and TP'd out first go.

Remember, you are given a random number of free teleports a month. If you need more, you have to find Teleport Linden and beg for more. He is very hard to find though. Sculpties, and attachments with Mono scripts are the number one killer of teleports. To many of them, and while the sim is saving their state, the teleport will time out and fail.

Why would tha only affect one or two Sims tho? I managed to successfully teleport to several sims. I don't think I have too many of either scupties or attachments

How do you see how many prims your avatar is wearing?

From: Ezra Ronas How do you see how many prims your avatar is wearing? When you edit something you see how many prims it consists of... so... edit your attachments and add the numbers.

I don't think I have too many of either scupties or attachments Because either those 1 or 2 sims have issues with their server hardware, (there is seperate server for approx every 4 sims) or that sim or one of the other sims on the server has been overloaded with scripted objects, temp rezzers and other resource hogging stuff.

It is inconceivable that they could cause teleport problems.

According to monkey linden, the sculpties have a state save procedure separate from the standard attachment save system. He didn't tell me why it did, just that it did. It is noticeable only when (1) The sim network channel or memory state is very loaded, and (2) you have mono scripts attached as well, then the sculptie save state issue is noticeable.

From: Kokoro Fasching ^_^ And that is different from most of their procedures how? Some Lindens are anything BUT handwavey. For example, when Babbage Linden explains stuff, I generally go "oh yeh, that makes sense... and that means X, Y, and Z" and I can make useful predictions from it. The rest... I take what they say with a grain of salt.

Ok I've got further info to throw into this.
Based on what had been said in the thread I detached all my huds. I'd had trouble teleporting, detached them and teleported fine without a glitch. I then reattached some huds and it seems that my biggest problem was my texture organizer hud (only had about 450 textures in there.) Wihtout that I seem to TP without troubles.
Clearly HUDs can have an effect which I guess is logical once I got to think about it so I shall have to get into the habit of making sure I'm not wearing it most of the time
