The JIRA *never* emails me...why?

I submit issues at JIRA, I watch them, I vote on them...but I NEVER get an email from it. Not even when my own issues are updated/closed/etc. Anyone know why? Anyone got suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

If you Watch issues, you should get email. Have you checked the email address on your profile in Jira?

I have, and it's correct.

Anyway, you login to JIRA with your SL info, and it's using that email, and that part works fine, I get SL emails all the time...confirmation of L$ purchased, emailed IMs, etc. It's just the JIRA that won't email me for some reason.

I just verified ... with your recent issue in Jira :) ... that I still get email for watches. It happens within a few minutes. Maybe try re-entering your email address in Jira's profile? Perhaps yours somehow got internally borked.

I see no way to enter/change an email address in JIRA. It seems to pull it from my SL account info, with no way to edit it in JIRA. Where are you going to alter your JIRA email address? I've actually seen complaints in the JIRA that it uses the SL address and that it doesn't properly react when the SL address changes. Are you sure email address is editable in JIRA? Where?

You're right! I just assumed it could be changed, sorry. Very puzzling. Could the emails perhaps be filtered out by your email's spam filter? Can you check a spam folder for that?

The only other thing I can think of is that SL in general is unfriendly to Hotmail, if you happen to have your email with them.

It's a Yahoo address, and no, it's not being filtered-out into my spam folder.

I've seen a number of websites recently that have very clear warnings specifically against using Yahoo mail. I wonder if they filter some spam before it even hits your spam folder? I've heard some mail services do this (and I know my company does this... we have junkmail folders, but the great majority of detected spam never reaches us).

If you have another email address, it might be worth a try.

I use Gmail, and I do get email notifications on all the Jiras I'm watching.

Hmmm. Maybe. But then I have to change my email address for all of Second Life which would be a pain (JIRA uses same email as your SL account). AND I've seen a bug report that when you change your SL email address JIRA doesn't update. So I might change my address...and still not hear from JIRA.

Interestingly, I DO hear from OTHER companies' JIRA sites that I use. It's just SL's JIRA.

Sorry, I can't think of a reason. Still getting emails from JIRA on a near daily basis. All I can say is, it's not a Yahoo account that I use.
