Well, after doing some more testing, I've discovered that the problem is not with the server, it's with my local computer. It still doesn't work on my computer, 3 days later, but I can log in from my roommate's comp, unfortunately SL looks like crap on his cause he has an older video card.
I'd like to point out that despite 2 emails to the support team I've gotten no reply and no assistance. I know this is beta and all, but come on. Lindens, got anything to say about this??

They need log files and system specs to troubleshoot, since everyone has a different computer. I am going through the same thing.

Steller went through a similar problem when we switched to the new grid, Pat. I went through a month or so where I would barely be able to fly w/o crashing. Like you said, we are testers. Were the world functioning, we'd be payin hard earned $$ to get in.
'The Lindens' are doin a great job at tackling existing bugs. As of late there have been a lot of bizarre ones. So in their defense, I have to ask yer patience. If I could help I would, but I'm rather dumb in the hardware department.
Send your sys specs and the files Gummy mentions like he descibed. Hope to see you both soon. thx, flyk

Point Taken Flyk. Sorry if I was being irritable or impatient earlier. I turns out that the person in charge of handling the support email, has been out of the office since last wednesday, and just got back today. So I am now in contact with him and working on solving the problem. Sorry for whining, -Pat Murphy

I can now log in. I didn't even change anything, it just started working. Oh, well.
