SL not running on Win7.

I have a problem in that SL won't run in Win7. I have an nVidia Geforce 285 card and have already installed the v191.07 for Win7 drivers and still a no-go.
Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to run SL?
Did you uninstall the existing video drivers before you installed the new ones?
Did you use a driver cleaner to remove any lingering traces of the old driver before installing the new one?
What viewer are you using?
What are your computer specs?

i have windows 7 64 bit since july, i have a quad core i7 intel, 6 gb ddr3 ram and a evga gtx 280 sc and it was working properly unltill 10 days ago. before the new sl updates and the new windows 7 security updates.

I'm having the same issues with windows 7 and an ATI Radeon graphs card. Done a fresh install with all drivers and still sl says my drivers are out of date or need updating. I only have this issue with sl,everything else i run is hunky dorey.

From: Hunni Daines I think they should make a windows 7 version For the viewer, it shouldn't matter if you are running Win 7 or Vista. It's the drivers that appear to be the problem, although I am running the Nvidia 191.07 drivers on Windows 7 64-bit using Emerald Viewer, and have not had a problem. |

Hi Josey, *wawes* just surprised to find your name here  Anyway I'm about to buy a new computer and I will use it mainly for Second Life so it's very important for me that it is compatible with SL, so I got a bit worried finding this topic, cause all new compueter comes preinstalled with Win 7. And it aint easy to find the right computer, it's a jungle out there, so many different parts that have to "fit", CPU, RAM, Video Card and not to forget the PSU that's going to give power to all the components. I find it really difficult to find a computer that measure up to all the above. Sure, I could build my own computer from scratch, however I'd rather not, I just want to have "fun" in SL, I don't feel like messing with the hardware. And also I will buy the new computer in Sweden, and I haven't found a Swedish tech forum where anybody "plays" SL, so I feel a bit lost. |

It worked fine for a little while. Then, SL crashed and zapped my computer. I got a blue screen. I can start Windows back up, and everything else seems Ok. But, when I start SL, I get the same blue screen. ohhhh, this has been trying. I loaded Win 7 last night, the network driver did not work, and now this. BT update...it worked for me too. |
