Just wondering if anyone can suggest anything I may be doing wrong?

I bought a headset and mic and set SL to use voice and all was ok.

Then last night I went to use voice again and for some reason it won't work.

Not sure if it's a SL problem?

At 1st I notices the white ball above my head was gone, so rebooted and that came back.

I've been into windows and mic is on.
I can tap the mic and hear that it works thru the speakers

In SL I can see the white ball above my head.

Under COMMUNICATE I can see in local chat the green icon

All voice settings are on.

BUT.............

If I go into EDIT / PREFERENCES / VOICE CHAT

And click on DEVICE SETTINGS

And choose the INPUT LEVEL where you see green blocks moving to show your level.
There's nothing there. The grey box's are empty, as though the mic of not working.

Even though I can tap the mic and hear it loud and clear thru my PC's speakers.

I can't think what else to set or adjust?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Well something very odd going on.

For some reason, I now can't wear a shirt or a jacket. I just put them on and nothing happens.

Odd..........?

After yet another reboot, all that seems to have cleared up, exept that I can't change my eyes and still no voice

Rebooted and cleared cache.
Still eyes won't change.

Just noticed something weird.

If I go into APPEARANCE then I can see my new colour eyes.
But "in world" I can only see old eyes.

Huh?

Guess it's a slow thing as the eyes thing has fixed itself finally.

Still no voice though.
If anyone can suggest any other setting/option I can check

Was same last night. I could hear others voices
And my mic appeared to be working.
but as far as SL was concerned my mic wasn't
