It's all good except for this.

You'll have lots of issues without a better set of video circuitry.

See http://secondlife.com/support/sysreqs.php for the minimum and suggested requirements.

The video is a show stopper. :(

If you have a choice do not get this and go for something that has an Nvidia or ATI built-in.

I agree the video accelerator is a big problem. However, going for something that is "built in" whether nVidia or ATI won't cut it either.........built in means onboard or intergrated. I don't believe you will find an intergrated graphics that will handle SL (or any graphics intensive program) with more than just "barely making it". Go for a computer with a discrete (or dedicated card). My choice would be nVidia 8000 series or higher. But, then again, I would never buy a laptop thinking it would perform very well for SL..........unless I was prepared to pay up to 3 or 4 times the cost of better desktop.

OCZ makes some incredible gaming laptops.

You can get them as barebones kits and add your own HD, CPU, RAM to go with your budget.

This one here has built-in nVidia 8600....

Or, if you have an unlimited budget, check out the Falcon Northwest Fragbook DRX.

It has 2 Nvidia 9800 cards in SLI mode. o.O

edit: skip the above link....you can get the same laptop a lot cheaper here:

Anything on that page will kick SL's butt.

Thanks for your replies - unfortunately i dont have much cash and this price range is about all i can afford. Seems the best spec i can find for under 400 pounds.

Its becoming an emergency situation too unfortunately.

If you can upgrade to a better video you should or else your SL experience will be frustrating and at sometimes depending on where in the world you are (like a mall) unplayable.
