Clearing out the texture cache?

Ok, I've had to set my texture cache to less than 512 MB, due to graphics cards issues. Problem is, since 1.2, textures fail to load fully past the "super blurry" phase after about 20 minutes of play. Even my avatar gets all blury, making him look rather ugly.

Is there any way to flush the cache aside from restarting SL? If not, could we have that option in future versions?

you can delete the cache manually
it's somewhere in c:\documents & settings\your name\application data\secondlife

then delete the cashe folder (when you are not playing ofcourse)

I log in as Administrator, and my cache is here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\SecondLife\cache

The BIG file is called "data.db2.x.10048" which looks, from file size and directory listing alone, like a database that stores binary data (images, sounds).

Personally, I wouldn't delete that file, but that's just me.

Running the uninstaller should clear the cache. If Second Life is not running, you can manually delete all the files in the cache directory.

I delete the cache contents before every time I play. It gets me a good half-hour to hour of play time before textures start going completely wonky.

also LF, check yer graphic preferences, post 1.2 it seems to default to 32 megs graphics ram (whichi believe loads textures at a max of 128x128 or at MOST 256x256 only)

Ok, I know I can flush my cache when i'm NOT playing... I'm saying is there a way to do it while i'm playing?

And my settings are set to 128MB...

The weird thing is, only certain textures seem to go blurry... mainly, the "default" wood texture. Other avs load fine when they come into view, but mine does not.

It's almost like the game is putting reverse priority by making temporary things on screen rez completely, and "permanent" sights (my avatar, default wood) get overwritten or downgraded.

I have the same problem and it is not all textures.

Drift Monde had a neat lace skirt and shirt on yesterday. I could see the lace detail on the skirt fine, but the shirt stayed blurry for over 15 minutes.

I'm finding that if I'm looking at an object (like a box selling a shirt with the picture on it), it is fine, but when I use alt and mouse to get close up it blurs and never clears up. And this is after I wait to make sure all the textures in the area load. This has just been happening since 1.2.
