I have windows 7 and when I start Second Life I get the message:
Secondlive: SecondLife.exe - accespoint not found.
cant find accesspoint of procedure QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane in DLL-file QTCF.dll.

If you do a Google search for QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane you will find a number of threads that might offer solutions.
It appears it may be caused by an undesired copy of QTCF.dll, possibly in C:\windows\system32.
You could try renaming that dll in that folder, if one exists. To be more thorough, you could do a search for all copies of that file, with show hidden and system files selected, and delete or rename them. Then reinstall quicktime.
Alternately, you might try uninstalling quicktime and reinstalling it, then if needed you could uninstall iTunes and reinstall it, assuming you have iTunes installed already.
