Nvidia GTX 280 rendering problems in SL

I recently bought new Nvidia GTX 280, SL says it's unknown. I'm having issue with textures, namely clothes and skins. Whatever cloth I create its totally white (say, a jacket) covering whole body except head... Skins I see as black on bottom part and blueish head - no matter what texture is applied no matter what settings are changed in appearance mode... Checked on my laptop same clothes and skins are fine, which implies its my GPU's fault.

Question to Dev team: how long is it going to take to update the viewer with new vga's? My business is skinmaking and clothes, and this issue unables me to work...

Same card, same issue. Really annoying, otherwise the levels of speed and detail are great.

I have this issue with my 8800GTX. I wonder if it might be a video driver bug to be honest. The reason I say this is because I "forced" the GX280 drivers on to my 8800GTX recently. Since you do not have much option to go backwards in driver releases, as the GX280 was just put into driver releases by Nvidia. Maybe I should try to roll back to an older driver and see if it fixes my problem.

I will post back here and let you know. I am thinking maybe it is a bug that creeped its way into the 177 driver releases. This could take me a while, but I am going to try the 175 and keep going back until it resolves. If this helps, I am wondering if Nvidia has to fix or Linden.

Okay, I have rolled back my video driver to 175.19 (the WHQL version) that Nvidia has posted for my 8800GTX, and I can say that my problem has cleared up. This would make me think it's an Nvidia bug in their driver, and we can only hope it clears up in a later release.

I have a 8800 GTX.....I have tried some beta drivers to test in other games. These were

177.66
177.70

and the latest 177.79 (which I think now is the WHQL) for the 200's

all 3 of these are doing what you describe.

175.19 seems fine

If you read in detail the vast majority of 'updates' with GC drivers, they have been with the DirectX 10 elements, no new advances have been made in the OpenGL arena for a year or more. SL's issue is that it always checks and makes you install all newer drivers, even if they have no effect on the SL OpenGL platform, then it doesnt support the new 'features', or can cope with the new configurations.

It's called blind updates, on the basis that newer is always better.
