8800 gts 512 MB

Pleeeeease,


is there anybody outside there,
who has two of this 8800 gts 512 MB from BFG running via SLI
with secondlife ????
I use Vista 64 with servicepack 1, newest drivers...
but I can only run the old viewer 19.0 (4),
no windnlight , no release candidate, also the newest version from today
always crashes when I try to log in...

Sounds like you're way out on the bleeding edge.

I just bought the same card, but I only run one, under Windows XP, and it works great.

Did you try with a clean xml , incase the old one bugs up when you try to log in.

I would suggest: Go back to XP... or Linux but Linux SL Viewer is alpha.

Not sure what driver you are using but try the beta 169.44 and NOT 169.21. Worked like a dream for me, frame rate well over 70fps.

This is a guess but from reading about poor usage of garbage collection and how it likes to wait and dump huge ammounts of memory at once I decided to try limiting how much memory SL could use on my graphics card.. since lowering this number from 1gb (7950 gx2) down to the 600-700 range I haven't had an out of memory error since. Might be a coincidence but there it is for what it is worth.

Took me some time to find this 169.44 beta driver cause its not listed
on the german side...but finally I got it, and it runs like hell now...
70-80 fps...never below 40 even in combat ...I love it...
