I am from France and new on SL. It seems that SL does'nt supprt french keybord (i can't type questionmarks and so on, only letters are working) . Please i need quick help for this problem because my trial finishes on july 26th, and if the keyboard is wrong i don't want to pay for an account. Thank you. Matadiola

This is a known issue, and it's being worked on. For now, you can set your OS to American English, and look at a picture of an American keyboard to type properly. Other than that...you'll have to wait for it to be fixed.

I found well how to do and thank you ty all ! I am sorry but i did a search last day on the forum and i had no found an answer (only 2 items) to my small problem. Now i have to learn querty keyboard, lol ! Bye and again "merci"

et merci : je suis heureuse de lire du français. Je suis corse mais j'habite près de Paris. Et oui j'ai déjà fait des progrès avec le clavier anglais, lol. J'espère te voir sur SL et échanger nos cartes et parler . A Bientot

bonne chance avec le clavier anglais... mais... certainement, il y a plusiers des problemes trop grand avec le clavier japonais, ha ha !... Oui. c'est un problem extraodinaire, vraiment !

j'espere aussi vous voir sur SL, j'habite Tehama sim, visitez moi...et parler francais...peut etre vous voulez appendre le japonais ha ha...

It's frustrating enough with a UK keyboard. Much sympathy to people with even more different layouts...

Well, why would I want to change to an American keyboard layout that lacks characters of my language - so I won't be able to type anything anymore in my own language? Not to speak that an American keyboard layout would 1) be very different (one would have to make a map to find all the characters in their position since they are not printed on the keyboard) and 2), even more important, changing the keyboard layout will not only change it for SL, but for ALL applications that I run at the same time on the computer, making it almost impossible to eg. check emails or browse the web in between.

IF at least the windows style ALT+nnnn could produce the ANSI characters, then it would be possible to manually insert the missing characters - but no, this feature is unavailable as well.

No, switching to an American keyboard style is not even a temporary solution for most people, and, for the time being, an international audience is obviously by LL yet accepted, but not really wanted I am afraid.
