My IT manager just installed PrivBar on the network desktops at the office, which forces my system to run as a user, not an administrator (which means I can't download SL). Anyone found a workaround to this little annoyance?

Solution, hmm. How about not wasting company time and money by playing around in SL while you're at work? Seems to me, that would solve the problem just fine. Unless of course, your job directly involves SL, in which case I'm sure you could have your IT guys make appropriate arrangements for you.

You might want to poll SL residents to find out how many "play" SL at work before you give such a sanctimonious and naive answer. As a sim and business owner in SL, there are times when I need to pop on to make a quick fix, or solve a problem. As the use of PrivBar increases, I'm sure I'm not the first or the last person to ask this question. Fortunately, I have found plenty of gamers on the net more than willing to give me a solution. Thanks for the lecture though next time I need one, I'll go to church. Buhbye.
