I have a geforce fx 5600 ultra.

I just got the newest drivers, and still I cannot enable bump mapping or shiny.

I'm a vehicle/av/weapon/object designer and I'm realizing I'm missing an entire aspect by not being able to see this.

What exactly do i need (possibly including card upgrade) to get shiny objects?

Silly question, but I always start simple: is shiny objects turned on in your preferences?

LL turns off some features if you have 256M of memory because they tend to crash or run very slow. You can turn bump/shiny on again at your own risk:
remove this line
RenderObjectBump FALSE
from
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings\settings.ini
