How did you update Windows? I mean did you upgrade from XP or Vista to Windows 7 or something? It's possible your drivers got rolled back. It might be that your updated Windows needs different or updated drivers for some of your hardware such as your video card/chipset. Maybe even you have a new video card with current and proper drivers but those devices have not been added to "tested and known to work" list.

A little more information would help.

Okay.........so it seems Windows Update installed something that is causing SL to see your hardware as unsupported. My guess is that Windows found a driver for your video card/chipset and you allowed Windows to install it. You can do a system restore back to a day or so before your update (Vista creates a restore point before each Windows Update installation so one is there unless you deleted it since you did the last update). Then go back to Windows update to get the updates you want.........only this time look at the optional updates closely and exclude them from the update (you can hide the update by right clicking on the item and choosing "hide";). Then if you feel that update Windows found is something you need then go to the manufacturers website and get it from there........having every new driver that comes out is not necessary (if you have no reason or indication that an update is necessary then it's best to leave it alone until there is a reason).

If you do want the driver (which is what I think it is that caused your message) then download it to your HD (don't run.......choose save), then uninstall or use some driver cleaner software, to remove the old driver before you install your newly downloaded one. Just remember when you uninstall your old driver, you will have to restart your computer.......when Windows boots back up it will find "new hardware" (your video card/chipset without a driver is new to Windows) do not let Windows search for or install a driver for it. Close the dialog box then go to the downloaded driver file and install from there.

All this to get rid of message. So I have one question...........does it prevent your from logging into SL and running it? If it does not, then you can simply ignore the message. Plus if the driver Windows Update installed is the same and it installed completely and properly you may get the same message. It means the SL software does not recognise it as supported.......it does not mean it's not going to work or is a problem.

In Vista you might fix this by reinstalling your video drivers. Especially if you got a driver update through Microsoft instead of from the chipset manufacturer.
