I was curious if there is a land height restriction on openspace islands? i have a mountain border around my sim which its highest point is 85 meters. When i purchased the land there was no rules other that keep the waterways between them low, which i went around and edited them all low as asked. my mountains fit into the layout of my sim therefore if i have to lower them my whole long thought out and planned idea is useless. the people i bought my sim from sent me a message today saying my borders are to high per LL islands region height restrictions which as far as i know are 100m above or below the point your land was at which was either 0m or 20m which either way i'm in range by at least 10m. is this a matter of "Overlords" do you think? or is there a height restriction?

I have not heard of height restrictions beyond when the EM menu allows - I would be interested in seeing the LL rule about this as your managers have quoted. Perhaps they meant a estate rule and not a LL rule?

As far as Linden Lab is concerned, an OpenSpaces sim can have the same terrain heights as any other sim. It could, technically, go as high as 255 meters.
But, if you "bought" this OpenSpaces sim from another sim owner and pay your monthly fees to that other Player, you didn't really "buy" it - you're just renting a whole OpenSpaces sim from that landlord. As your landlord, they can require anything that suits their whims. They could tell you that nothing in your sim, including buildings, can be more than 20 M above the waterline, or even that you can't terraform at all without permission. From their standpoint, it is perfectly reasonable to require that an area that is designed as low-lying islands with open waterways should remain that way, and not have the views from neighboring sims being blocked by steep vertical walls like you erected.
To actually OWN an Openspaces sim and be able to determine for yourself what your limits are, you would first have to own at least one full-prim sim. Then it is just between you and Linden Lab as far as what you are permitted to do.
If you want to make a sim that is ringed with high walls like that, without owning a full-prim sim already from Linden Lab, you'll probably need to find a landlord that is willing to set you up with an OpenSpaces sim that is not directly connected to any other sims. Your current landlord could request that LL move your sim away from everyone else, but it will cost him $100 US Dollars to do that. Are you willing to cough up that fee to pursue your plans for your sim?
