I have no idea what happened, but all of a sudden, my game is slow with packet loss and high ping. I have problems logging in, as the game tend to freeze on "connecting to region", and it, most of the time, never load from there so i close it and try again. When i'm online, it's just a waste to play as i can't even walk around in there cos of the lag.
I do know that i recently updated to the latest version of SL because it forced me to do so. I have also tried using the RC viewer and uninstalling/installing the game several times. winmtr says there is no packetloss (but in SL it shows that there is), and tweaking this and that doesn't work either.
I have also experienced that my comp slows down sometimes when using internet browsers. And it also got a little slow when logging into world of warcraft. My next step is to format everything and reinstall windows from scratch, but i don't want to do that just yet. I wanted to see if someone could help me, and if someone have experienced this same thing themselves. Any reply is helpful (i hope).

I'd start out with turning off the computer, modem, router, and any other devices involved in your computer system, networking, and internet access for a few minutes.
For the browser problem, I'd check to see if there are any toolbars, browser helpers, etc. that have managed to get themselves installed that might be bogging things down, and disable and remove them.
Other things for the browsing slowdown try would be to clear your browser's cache.
General maintenance might help, such as emptying your recycle bin, if applicable, a thorough, exhaustive anti-mal-ware scan, both anti-virus and spyware scans, if you have separate programs for those functions, and a defrag.

My ISP don't have a monthly bandwith. So that one is not it. I'm connected straight into the wall socket btw. No modem.
And let me do all those things you mentioned Suezanne, and i'll post a reply about if it helped, later. It's late here, so i'll do those things and post a reply tomorrow.
Thanks.

Thanks. You're connected "straight to the socket"? You're not on a dialup are you? I've never heard of a broadband internet connection that does not require a modem.

Are you in a college dorm or other similar place that shares connections?

From: Peggy Paperdoll You're connected "straight to the socket"? You're not on a dialup are you? I've never heard of a broadband internet connection that does not require a modem. Well, i don't know what to say. It's just connected straight into the wall socket. No modem, no nothing. Just a cable from the wall to the comp... So, i guess, /now/ you've heard of it I can't tell you anything about how it works, or what it looks like or what happens between the ISP and my wall. So sorry about that one. That's just how my line works. It's very normal here in the north of Europe. I do live in a dorm, but it's /not/ on a shared connection. I have a T1 10/10 connection. My line has no "buildt in firewall", so i need to have that on my comp. I usually use a router (not wireless), but it busted the other day, but it was way after my issues began. But, the good news is that i fixed it! It /was/ something about firefox. I don't know what, but i think it was this thing i installed not long ago called "ask search", which was part of something i installed. (i could choose to install it or not, but i didn't think much of it). So, i uninstalled it (firefox) and removed as much as i could of the "leftovers" after it. Then i reinstalled it and now everything works flawlessly. My comp is no longer slow and there is 0% packet loss in SL (mostly), and the ping varies between 200 and 400. So thanks much for all the replies and help i got. I can't believe nobody was able to help me except you who are here. Thanks again^^,
