Every time I start up SL, about 15 seconds after I'm logged in, my SL Viewer and the rest of my computer freezes up. Only SL does this to me. I have to literally unplug my computer to get it to shut off and then start it up again. SL does it every time. PLEASE help if you've had this issue too.

It could be overheating, caused by SL's extreme demands on the video processing system.

You might want to follow proper procedure for checking that your fans are dust free, spinning, and spinning properly.

If it's a laptop, you might want to get a laptop cooler.

If your system lets you check the temperature, that would be a good place to start.

I had a system that would die when running SL and nothing else. A fan was in near-terminal condition, the fan was spinning slowly, enough to keep the system from overheating anytime SL wasn't running, but turn on SL, and the computer would shut down. Replaced the fan, and it was all ok again.
