total lockups with 1.4.1

Since 1.4.1 (and perhaps 1.4), I'm experiencing total machine lockups pretty often.

It usually happens when editing a prim. Suddenly when I press the mouse button, the mschine will freeze and I need to power cycle it.

Never happened in 1.3.x.

Any others with the same problems ?

I get the same thing, I use a Radeon 9600xt vid card. I'm sure it's something to do with that.

Same here with same card (9600XT) and:

Catalyst 4.6 (OverDrive On or Off)
1GB RAM
P4 HT 2.8
Latest DirectX, AGP drivers

This seemed to start 2 versions ago.

Try using the omega drivers instead it seemed to fix my problem as I have a 9600xt too. Clean out your old catlyst driver first.

Reluctantly, I uninstalled the ATI Control Panel and just installed the Omega Drivers. After a few setting adjustments and reboots, I entered Second Life...

SUCCESS

I was in the game for over 3 hours -- at high graphic settings -- with NO LOCKUPS!!!!

Thanks, Robo!!!
