So like, I have a cheap laptop I want to use SL on. Eventually everything will turn black and all text will disappear the longer I play.
Here be some screencaps that show the problems: http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=blackii6.jpg http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=black2ki5.jpg http://img218.imageshack.us/my.php?image=black1av6.jpg
Here be the specs. Or something. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01150073&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3548227&rule=13685&lang=en
I are also using the the 1.19.1 version of Second Life.
So the question here, is if this thing can be upgraded enough to play SL without any of the blackness. Or if I shouldn't bother.
I get no lag. I only have issues listed.

If you are thinking of buying that computer I wouldn't. It only has 1 gig of RAM with Windows Vista Home Premium. That is barely enough to run Vista.....in fact you can't even run Vista with full Aero turned on. Plus it's Compaq.........but minus in my view.
If you already bought it then try taking it back......it's garbage for anything other than word processing, light internet surfing and email.
My opinion.

No to upgrading is correct.......that computer is junk. A total waste of anymore money you put in it..........even if you got the thing for a hundred bucks.
I'm not joking..........sorry.

So I've noticed.
I'm glad I asked this before wasting monies to upgrade it.
