As always, no specific mention of SL fixes or issues. Mostly bug fixes...increased performance for a few games on specific Radeon models.

I'm currently having problems with my broadband connection, so it may take a while before I can test the new driver with SL. I'll post results in this thread.*

Feels like I'm talking to myself here... ;)

Anyway, I just spent about 45 minutes iw, and didn't see a lick of texture corruption. I had both AGP and Avatar Vertex enabled, and had the Video Memory maxed out at 128...usually a fatal combination, which produces immediate rainbowing.

I know it needs a longer trial, but at least it's not introduced any new bugs for Radeon 9200 cards. And maybe it's actually helped... I'm giving Cat 4.2 one thumb up, until proven otherwise.*

Always my pleasure Oz. Good luck with the driver.

Ok, tested them out and found the following:

Shiny Still Broken (Broken with 4.1 drivers) (see attached Image).

Avatar Vertex appears "fixed" unless zoomed out then I get black face, and...

Going into Edit mode makes Avatars neoned with Avatar Vertex. (see attached Image).

FSAA still gives black screen.

Thats all I've found so far.

In the image I have a Sphere at night with Medium shiny turned on, thats how it looks for me now, and in the background you can see the Neoned Avatar effect.

As soon as the Edit menu pops up WHAM neon. Can only be fixed by loging back in and/or turning off Avatar Vertex.

OMG Oz...you had the guts to turn on FSAA??? I haven't tried that in ages. But since you mentioned it, I'll give it a go and see what happens. I do keep Anisotropic Filtering on, and it never seems to be a problem.

Edited Addendum: FSAA is still unusable for my 9200. The 2 problems it causes are: texture corruption when I open the Appearance dialog; and the client crashes if I open the Color Picker on the texture tab. I've rarely seen the black screen that's more commonly a problem.

Yes, I'm still seeing black face exactly as you described. It only seems to appear within a very narrow range of camera view distance.

Last night I finally managed to get a slight bit of texture corruption. After being iw for about 4 hours with AGP and Vertex on, I switched video ram from 128 to 64, and then back to 128. That produced a minimal amount of rainbow. I think the fact that I'm deleting everything in the cache after every long session might be helping a lot as well.

As for your attachment, um, what kind of drugs is your Radeon using? (and where can I get some?)

Lol... Second Life, the best kind of drug for ATI Cards ;)

They should advertise SL in High Times with my screenshot there as the picture and call it a "Feature Only Enabled With ATI Cards".

Hehe.
