What did SL suggest for you to do? Their normal suggestion is to clear your cache and log into snother sim..........some sim that is known for it's lack of heavy avatar traffic, lack of huge amounts of textures and scripts. In other words a quiet sim. Pooley has often been named as a sim to try. I also know Philudoria is a quiet sim (I live there and it's not uncommon at all to see 5 or less avatars there for hours on end). Try one of those. Sometimes it takes several "clearings" of the cache to get it cleared. Another, more effective, way is to manually delete the cache file from your hard drive. When SL is launched the first time after deleting the file it will be rebuilt for you.......there's no danger of harming the SL client. The essiest way to find where the cache is located on your computer is to look at the path on the "Network" tab in preferrences........it's the box below the "clear cache" button. Write that path down (or memorize it), close SL without logging in, navigate to the file on your drive and delete it. Launch SL again, choose a quiet sim and log in.

To clear your cloud self quickly here is what I have found that works best. Change your shape, hair-base and shoe-base. The cloud happens when SL can find your avatar mesh, these are the three items that control your mesh, changing them will clear give you a whole new mesh to work with, you can then switch back to the other shape/hair/shoes. In my personal experience it has been the hair-base that is the culprit.
