cant get onto sl

have carried out instructions to the letter and when i try to start a crash logger box appeared saying app has frozen before sending error report to driver?
am using windows xp. with aol broadband. my fire wall is mcafee. went into firewall and accepted the sl programme.this is driving me mad! can anyone help as it would be most appreciated.

If you are using McAfee firewall you are probably using McAfee Anti Virus too. McAfee (and Norton) has been known to play hell with SL........try getting one of the better known free anti virus programs. AVG is an excellent one.

Im having the exact same problem. It just keeps telling me SL needs to close. It is very frusterating. Did you ever get on? How did you do it? Im also reading threads about NVidia geforce 8800 is what i have. is that a problem? Im new to all of this, and very confused. Please help!

I am having same problems. Only I use Zone Alarm for virus and firewall. They have both accepted SF. My power supply is high, should be fine. I am frustrated as do not know what to do. Can somone help me please???? ty

I use ATT dsl..... am using XP service pack 3. I already posted a message about my graphics card today. I think it should be fine but wanted to find out for sure.

my mate uses mcaffee and has no prob getting on. he uses tiscali rather than aol, could this be doing anything?

tried turning off mcafee firewall and leaving windows firewall on but still nothing

Without some system specifications (what computer you have, graphics card, CPU, memory, operatining sytstem, how you connect to the internet, etc) there is very little anyone who reads these forums can do to give you suggestions or possible remedies for whatever problems you may be experiecncing. If you don't know what your computer specs are and don't know how to find them then I'm afraid any suggestions given by anyone here will also leave you scratching your head.........SL is not a fancy version of "Pong" or "Pacman".

Find someone to help you that can sit down with you at your computer and, at least, get something that will help us understand what it is you are experiencing, and maybe come up with a why, and even maybe come up with a solution and get you on SL. I took a shot in the dark from your really brief and incomplete description of your problem........it evidently was wrong. But that's about all I can think of at this point.........I need more information (as does anyone else reading these forums). If you can't get it to us then I guess you are on your own.......we can't help.
