Not Loading All My Items...?

Hey everyone, 'bit of a problem over here. Before the most recent update, I had about 20k items in my inventory. The past couple weeks I've noticed, and it used to happen on occasion before, that it's only loading 14-15k of the 20. This is only an issue to me that the 5k it's happening to not load are all tools and building materials for my sim... folders are showing up, but there's no arrow to signify there's anything inside of them. No textures, no objects, nothing. Even when there's no item count on the Inventory header... all the folders are empty.

I'm on a wireless, and on occasion it does the revert thing that's known to happen, but can it not be loading all my stuff due to it as well?

*to clarify, I've logged in every day since the update... and they've still been gone @_@ isn't a one-day thing, it's been missing for a few weeks.

depending on my luck the item count on my inventory varies from about 9k to about 30k+

one way to make a few more items load is to do the alphabet search routine, search for "A" (not quotes), wait till the item count stops updating, then search for "B" (no quotes), wait till the item count stops going up, then continue thru the alphabet

First they came for the ageplayers,
I remained silent 'cause I wasn't an ageplayer

Then they came for the furries,
I didn't protest 'cause I wasn't a furry

Then they came for the goreans,
I didn't speak up because I wasn't gorean

Then they came for me,
and there wasn't anyone left to speak up for me

Some kind of connection to the server thing going on. Especially since you stated that your inventory will vary from one time to another. You need to look for your problem somewhere between your network interface device and the location of the Linden Lab servers. A good place to start is your wireless connnection.

if the inventory doesn't finish loading when the client expects the client assumes that is the end of the inventory anyway (or sotmhing along those lines)

If it's not loading completly in what ever time frame the client or whatever expects it to it would still point to a problem somewhere between the key board of your computer and the input/output of the servers at LL. It's possible, but not likely, that the servers could be belching for your particular client requests. But, I highly doubt that is the cause...........most, if not all, the other clients would be experiencing the exact same problem that are tied that server array. I don't think that's the case.

I'm sure you've cleared your cache......multiple times? If not....do it. Multiple times. You said it's a wireless connection. I'm sure you know that wireless connnections are not officially supported by LL...........the reason being is that they are somewhat prone to connection problems (actually, I believe they are more than somewhat prone to that issue). Try a hard wired connection (ethernet, CAT 5e cable). Try rebooting your modem and/or router.

In all likelihood your problem is somewhere between your keyboard and the final output connection to the internet at your local residence.

Last night mine was stuck at 6k all night...out of 37k. Today I'm trying different viewers to see if it'll load past 9k that it's stuck at.

i would try clearing your Cache and maybe even deleting the cache folder. Both should force the central stuff to find your inventory again.

Cache folders pointer is in the network tab of preferences, as is the clear cache button.

hope that helps

((what we really need is a "refresh viewer" button that deletes that folder; right below the clear cache button. with some warning or something. I don't think it is documented anywhere, but everyone need it at some point))

Stayed at 9028 on 1.23 RC, Hippoviewer and Emerald....had cleared cache and rebooted modem and router. It's loading now on Cool Viewer for ATI users...slowly but surely...it's at 12k now.

Update* LOL relogged back to 1.23 RC and it stuck again at 9028. Going back on Cool Viewer now.

Update* Reloaded normally again on Cool Viewer.
