I dont know if anyone else has experienced this but over the past month an odd occurance has happened several times with several avatars.
It seems, that when a person has a rezzed object on land and crashes, sometimes that object leaves a data footprint of sorts where the object although not visible in either normal viewing mode or in Show Invisible mode or Wireframe mode.. its there.
and solid.
you can hit it with a car or fly into it and get stopped, but its not there. you cant select anything nor see it as invisible or in wireframe.
The only thing that detects it at all.. is a scanner.
The only way ive been able to fix this is by a sim restart.
Anyone know about this issue and or has an explanation?

I'm glad I found this post ..I've been going nuts for the last 2 days , An object was rezzed on my land and deleted, but now where the object was is an invisible physical object, and like you say you cant even see it in wireframe mode or select it in any way One of the scanners will give the objects UUID Is there any tool that could delete an object by UUID even if every other method has failed, Or will I indeed have to ask the estate owner for a sim restart.. I thought I was going mad with this little problem, and even had someone who is much more knowledgeable than me take a look and she was baffled too..
Best thing is its a little plate of sushi( was) but now leaves a phys mound that can actually be stood on . God i want this fish gone....

Contact inworld support via live chat. If not a premium member, find one who will do it for you. You need to have your sim restarted. That's the only cure for this problem. It went away for awhile, but seems to be making a comeback. Best not to rez or delete when SL is experiencing data server problems. Of course that means never rez or delete at all

There are also a number of freebie gadgets out there that will crash a sim for you, forcing a restart, and fixing the problem. Hurry to Yadni's before the Havok4 roll-out kicks off (supposedly this evening), because sim crashing's about to become quite a bit more difficult. EDIT: You should know that intentional sim-crashing is an AR-able offense, I guess...

Yes, sim restart is the only thing I know that cures this. If its estate land the owner can do a restart themselves, takes about 5 mins before its all back to normal.
