Hi i recently formatted my hard drive to clean her up and what not. After reloading the SL client, when i try to open up SL nothing happens. I double click the icon on my desktop and that little box pops up in the middle of the screen that sais its loading up then not more than 3 seconds later... nothing, it is like i never clicked it, just goes away and im back at the desktop.

Can anyone help me get back into SL?

After formating your HD and reinsalling the whole system and its programs you should first check the drivers for your mainboard especially the network drivers and get the latest updates. But I am sure you know this already coz it isnt so difficult. However, some often forget some drivers.

The first thing after starting SL using the shortcut is activating the access over the network, so make sure the way is clean (driver+firewall, may router)

The next step would be checking the graphic device and its driver: Can you run another game?

-may run scandisc (cluster damage can be a reason why a program cant start)
-defrag system
-I highly adive to install SL onto another partition than C: (system)
-also relocate the cache folder to another partition than C:
-stop cross running software like Northon or ZoneAlarm
-stop AntiVir Programs

good luck
