Odd password issue

Hello Lifers!

Just a question (forgive me if this has been covered here already - I looked but couldn't find it).
Tried to login to SL and found an odd thing happening. I had my name and password saved from my previous login (my password is seven characters). I hit the connect button and the game starts to connect but then the progress bar gets stuck at about 20% and then boots me back to the login screen. The odd thing is that the password box shows a series of asterisks ************* <----- about that long. I know my password is only 7 characters. I cleared the box and tried again - got the same thing. So next I tried re-installing the game - no good either. Here's the "DOH!" part: I was trying to login after 10 pm PST, but would that cause that strange password behavior? I would think that I might get some sort of "unable to connect" message or something to that effect, not a change of my password. Just curious - I understand that this IS a beta.

the astericks cover the entire field as to not give away your password length. The log in server is now open to 11pm pst so thats why you didnt get the "unable to connect" message.

To get rid of the astericks, highlight them and hit backspace. Once they are all clear, retry your password

I figured that was the reason - just wasn't sure about the asterisks.
