I have been in SL a few days. When I left Orientation Island after my frst login, someone advised me to go to Arieth, so I went there, and as a result Arieth is listed as my "home". OK so far.
Today while I was at Help Island, someone advised me to go to The Free Dove to get free clothes. But all the clothes there seemed to me women's clothes, and I am a man, and I am content with the jeans and white teeshirt that came with my avatar. So, I decided to fly back to Help Island, as a change from teleporting. So I flew high as possible, to be above hills and buildings and NO ENTRY areas, aimed myself, and leaned on my up-arrow key to fly steadily, with occasional altitude and course corrections.
OK for a while . Then something suddenly teleported me "home", i.e. to Arieth.
I then teleported back to Help Island, where I had started from. I found this message in my message box:
"[8:18] Sky Home - Security System v1.7: You have been teleported home for intruding on -----'s private area [8:18] You have been teleported home by the object 'Sky Home - Security System v1.7' on the parcel '***UNSAFE LAND*** PLEASE BE ADVISED! VALENTINO MAFIA HILL!!'. [8:18] Teleport completed from ... [8:18] Connecting to in-world Voice Chat... [8:18] Connected [8:19] Teleport completed from http://slurl.com/secondlife/ARIETH/128/128/30".
What is happening? It was SL night and fog and I could not see ground details at that height. I know that people want privacy, in SL as in the real world. But, surely, as with airliners in the real world, high-altitude overflight is allowed to allow long air journeys too high above the ground to see or hear or influence what is happening on the ground below?
In detail what are the rules about restricted areas? There seem to be several sorts of restricted areas and exclusion areas, many not marked as such until I try to enter them. Where and when am I likely to run into this SL equivalent of flak?

Personal security orbs can be made to go beyond the rules that regular banlines follow. Not all of them are within the LL rules, and that one looks like a rule breaker itself. (^_^) If someone is trying to protect their skybox, they would be keeping their orb in there and you just happened to be their victim. The worst part is that the orb didn't give you at least a warning first. Score 1 for the paranoid land owner. (>_< Also.... It would be a good idea to shred the parcel name in your quoted text.... That kind of stuff is frowned upon here. (oYo)

And I likely did not see the orb because it was SL night.
Thanks. If this security orb is a rule breaker, will any action be taken against it? I realise that people want privacy and secrecy, as in the real world; but in the real world I put up with airliners flying above my house. What restrictions can be imposed on high-altitude overflight too high to see or hear or influence anything on the ground? I have had sudden "GET OUT" warning popup windows before, with a time limit that I try to obey, usually by teleporting out in a hurry before the guards shoot me.
Have I deleted enough in my first message?
Please where is information about banlines? Text search in SL for "banline" found nothing.

Since the orb didn't give you any warning before TPing you... You might be able to send an abuse report on it using the un-edited text from your original post. But, I dunno, I'm sure there are some older & wiser people here that can set us straight on that. (^_^) Normally, in SL, there are no restrictions on flying, except for the obvious No-Fly setting that most land owners don't use. Actually, flying is a way of reducing restrictions as it allows scripts to run in no-scripts areas and your're normally allowed to fly over banlined parcels as long as you stay up high enough. (^_^) Oh... And about banlines... It's just a word I hear used for the borders you see around sims and parcels that are set up to limit the people who visit. Either by having public access turned off, or by having your own avatar name in the banlist. (=_=) And, as far as what to delete... I think most of the time naming names is not allowed in the forum. You'll notice that the in-world quotes in my sig have names replaced with "***". There's a sticky on it somewhere, I'm just too lazy to look and link. (>_<

I have just tried to report it as an abuse. But: (1) The abuse report buffer is too short for the information, and I had to trim and re-trim it to fit it in. (2) It needs the abuser's name, and I do not know who set up that security system that "shot me down" without warning.
It seems that I will have to email my complaint to someone: to who, please?

I think the orb announced the owner in chat... Your un-edited post had it. Maybe before ARing the person you could IM him/her and ask why the orb was so fast and find out if the person is reasonable. I dunno... by now, I would be frustrated enough to just shrug it off. I was really hoping someone else would chime in by now and set us straight. (x_x)
