Ok, it turns out that my SL freezing problems weren't caused by SL itself after all...but I discovered this too late, and the laptop's display adapter is fried  So, I am planning to buy a whole new setup (been planning to get one for a while now anyways)...but the problem are these graphics adapters, I want to be certain SL runs at least as good as it did on the laptop (and considering how badly it ran on the laptop, virtually anything's an improvement), and since the graphics adapter seems to be the biggest bottleneck as far as SL is concerned...which one should I get? |

well for the desktop models, they are pretty much the same, except
the ati is 125mhz faster, BUT its ati, which has bad drivers and has historically been bad with open gl games, especially SL
not everyone who owns ati and plays SL has a problem, in the past ive never had a problem, but personally i dont like their screwynes, nor their drivers or particularly their video quality
