LOL Ama Better yet, what video card are you using. You can't just say "I have low FPS" and expect a full length elaborate reply...

Hey, Nightstalker -
I'm currently working on a new support doc to help debug performance issues (there's an old one in the Knowledge Base, but it's out of date), but here's a few hints...
If you're running a GeForce2, the 41.09 drivers are much faster than the 43.45 drivers - too complicated to explain here, but they basically removed an extension that we were using, and we're currently using a software emulation fallback which is MUCH slower.
Also, Second Life gets low frame rates (and crashes a lot) because of outdated AGP drivers. The result of this is that the OpenGL driver runs in PCI compatibility mode, which is MUCH slower. One way to tell if this is happening is to try disabling AGP in your Preferences (Preferences/display, first check box). If your frame rate improves, that's usually why.
In any case, the outdated (but still useful) performance tuning doc is called "Debugging viewer crashes and slow performance", in the tech support section of the knowledgebase.

The reason I asked was because when I logged off and saw his reply I had just been through Hawthorne, which it took me a few minutes to even get into cuz it was full of people building at the least, and possibly shooting again. I mean -full-. And frame rates were non existant. Thats why I asked anyways. Glad a solution was found.
