Keep trying. Sometimes it'll hang on this for me, especially if my connection is wonky, but forcing it a couple times will help.

I've had to "disable" my Norton Personal Firewall before attempting to connect to SL, as of 1.0.3, to avoid getting this message. Before 1.0.3, it worked fine after the first attempt.

an easy was of fixing it is just refrh your dsl by unplugging it and plugging it back in

I get that message when more then one computer at my house try's to play SL. Does any one know if they are blocking multi connection from a single IP??
