Did you update the drivers on your ATI card after getting that message and trying again?

You'll probably need to use the Vista drivers. ATI doesn't have proper Windows 7 drivers for the x1650 yet.

The problem I have found with these older cards and Windows 7 RC (Beta works perfectly) is that card before DX10 are on a legacy driver now, installing these Vista/Win7 drivers doesn't work in the Win7 RC.

Look in the Device Manager and see the driver version for the video card.....if it says "Microsoft Corporation" at the end then those are the ones that come with Win7 RC and doesn't like some graphical programs like SL. I've tried to manually install the drivers for a X1650 and X1900 but Win7 refuses to find anything compatible.

Yeah, i know, i got them deinstalled and installed an older version from the ATI-driver, the 9.3

but he will update them trough the Windows Updater as soon as he has Internet :-/
