Hi, I have 2 accounts, my main one keeps crashing after being online about 2 minutes, the other one is fine and dandy and will stay connected for as long as i need. I got rid of a lot of stuff in my main accounts inventory and its down to about 6500 items now, thinking that might be the problem, but its still doing it.

Other than using only my second account (not really an option) can anyone suggest anything else that might help please?

Frankly i am having the same issue...

If i wasn't so addicted i would have uninstalled for good but since i cant bring myself to do that (and bashing Lindens would only make me sound immature), I CAN tell you that if you uninstall and reinstall, it seems to work okay according to friends who have the same problem. However, this can be a huge inconvenience if you don't have lightning speed connection so the only other advice is to clear your cache numerous times during the week, and see where your preferences are sitting with bandwidth and drawing distance etc...I've lowered mine so that my little laptop can handle the graphics but regardless, this seems to be an issue that won't be solved by one thing. I hope something helps...otherwise i'll be open to any semi permanent suggestions also :D

Hi guys,

The first suggestion is usually to detach EVERYTHING that your avatar is wearing (including hair.) Sometimes scripted objects can become corrupt or buggy, and cause crashes.

After that, try DELETING (not just clearing) your cache directory. First, make sure that you can view hidden folders and files. Right click on the Start menu, choose explore, then Tools/Folder Options. Under the View tab, select 'Show Hidden Files and Folders.'

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your username]\Application Data\Second Life\Cache

Delete the entire Cache directory. It's never a guarantee that the cache has anything to do with your crashing, but texture files can become corrupt.

Let us know how those work for you. :)
